After the Storm: How to Handle the Enforcers
Foreclosure court cases in Florida are down from 377,707 in June 2012 to 90,535 in April 2015. Residential sales have increased approximately 25% from July 2014 to July 2015, and median sales prices have increased about 10% from June 2014 to June 2015.
As a result, what is left in place are property registration laws, which were passed to help with code enforcement, and stronger association laws, which were passed to maintain common areas. Enforcement of code violations and association assessments greatly impact the remaining foreclosure cases and REO sales. REOMAC presents an expert panel discussing how best to handle these “enforcers” and what is on the horizon for such laws.
